and all places where fine podcasts are available.

00:00:17.000 –> 00:00:20.000
Also, two folks I want to point out to all of you,

00:00:20.000 –> 00:00:24.000
in the bottom of your show notes in your phone is the Amazon affiliate link.

00:00:24.000 –> 00:00:28.000
Before you buy anything, if you click that affiliate link and then make the purchase,

00:00:28.000 –> 00:00:32.000
it will help support the show and help keep it free and keep it going.

00:00:32.000 –> 00:00:35.000
So we really appreciate that.

00:00:35.000 –> 00:00:39.000
So, a lot going on in the news with Biden.

00:00:39.000 –> 00:00:42.000
Still, all this stuff that’s going on with his…

00:00:42.000 –> 00:00:45.000
Now they’re searching his beach house for documents.

00:00:45.000 –> 00:00:47.000
It’s really just this whole thing.

00:00:47.000 –> 00:00:53.000
I’m wondering if this classified document thing might be bigger than what Trump had

00:00:53.000 –> 00:00:56.000
or bigger than what all the Hillary Clinton stuff.

00:00:56.000 –> 00:00:58.000
So we’ll have to wait and see.

00:00:58.000 –> 00:01:02.000
But apparently he has a beach house. I thought that was nice, you know, that he has a beach house.

00:01:02.000 –> 00:01:07.000
I guess, you know, being, you know, they always say people in the public service don’t make a lot of money.

00:01:07.000 –> 00:01:09.000
But apparently he’s got how many houses?

00:01:09.000 –> 00:01:12.000
You know, his house, you know, the beach house.

00:01:12.000 –> 00:01:15.000
You know, it must be nice to have all these homes, huh?

00:01:15.000 –> 00:01:20.000
I guess it does pay to be doing public service.

00:01:20.000 –> 00:01:24.000
So, another thing I wanted to bring up.

00:01:24.000 –> 00:01:31.000
Apparently in Florida, they are banning books that have any LGBT characters.

00:01:31.000 –> 00:01:35.000
The DeSantis, the governor there, is banning anything…

00:01:35.000 –> 00:01:37.000
I think it’s anything third grade and below.

00:01:37.000 –> 00:01:39.000
They are taking any LGBT out.

00:01:39.000 –> 00:01:41.000
I just think it’s a little bit ridiculous.

00:01:41.000 –> 00:01:43.000
But they’re saying that telling teachers…

00:01:43.000 –> 00:01:45.000
Some teachers are saying they’re not going to do it.

00:01:45.000 –> 00:01:50.000
And they’re saying if you still have these books in your classroom after a certain date,

00:01:50.000 –> 00:01:52.000
you’d be charged with a felony charge.

00:01:52.000 –> 00:01:54.000
I’m like, really?

00:01:54.000 –> 00:02:00.000
You know, I have a personal problem with taking books out of classrooms and taking…

00:02:00.000 –> 00:02:07.000
I mean, I understand what he thinks he’s doing is he thinks he’s protecting these kids from, you know, the LGBT stuff.

00:02:07.000 –> 00:02:12.000
But that’s kind of how, you know, this all starts is conditioning.

00:02:12.000 –> 00:02:15.000
You know, that’s the first thing they do is, you know…

00:02:15.000 –> 00:02:19.000
Any of these leaders that want to, you know, they want an uneducated society.

00:02:19.000 –> 00:02:21.000
The first thing they do is take away the books.

00:02:21.000 –> 00:02:24.000
So I have a real problem with this personally.

00:02:24.000 –> 00:02:27.000
People forget that in Germany, before, you know, that…

00:02:27.000 –> 00:02:32.000
Before the rise of the Nazis, they started burning books that they didn’t want people to read.

00:02:32.000 –> 00:02:34.000
So that’s really concerning to me.

00:02:34.000 –> 00:02:37.000
I have a real problem with that when we started taking books away.

00:02:37.000 –> 00:02:40.000
Now, I know there are little kids and all that, but…

00:02:40.000 –> 00:02:43.000
I mean, I just… I don’t know. I have a real feeling… problem with this.

00:02:43.000 –> 00:02:47.000
I don’t think kids… I don’t think kids understand what LGTP means.

00:02:47.000 –> 00:02:49.000
I think… I don’t think it really matters.

00:02:49.000 –> 00:02:53.000
I mean, they’re going to watch TV show… I mean, you can only shield kids from so much.

00:02:53.000 –> 00:02:57.000
And I think this is just trying to rile up his base.

00:02:57.000 –> 00:02:58.000
Because, I mean, come on.

00:02:58.000 –> 00:03:03.000
I mean, if the kids watch anything on any certain… on the CW or any of these other channels…

00:03:03.000 –> 00:03:08.000
Or movies, they’re going to have Netflix, they’re going to have LGTP characters.

00:03:08.000 –> 00:03:10.000
I think this whole thing is just stupid.

00:03:10.000 –> 00:03:15.000
And I think it just shows, you know, they’re trying to condition the kids at a young age now…

00:03:15.000 –> 00:03:17.000
Not to make their own choices.

00:03:17.000 –> 00:03:18.000
This is what you’re going to be…

00:03:18.000 –> 00:03:20.000
I mean, this is how it all starts with conditioning.

00:03:20.000 –> 00:03:22.000
So I have a real problem with this.

00:03:22.000 –> 00:03:23.000
Really, I do personally.

00:03:23.000 –> 00:03:28.000
It’s… to me, once we start taking away books and once we start making a dumber society…

00:03:28.000 –> 00:03:29.000
They’re easier to control.

00:03:29.000 –> 00:03:33.000
So this is just, you know, this is the Republicans wanting to…

00:03:33.000 –> 00:03:37.000
You know, this is, you know, in 18 years from now…

00:03:37.000 –> 00:03:39.000
These will be people that, you know…

00:03:39.000 –> 00:03:43.000
I think this whole thing is just them trying to condition a bunch of kids.

00:03:43.000 –> 00:03:46.000
And then they have the nerve to talk about, you know, the internet…

00:03:46.000 –> 00:03:49.000
You know, conditioning kids and exposing kids to things they shouldn’t see.

00:03:49.000 –> 00:03:53.000
Well, you’re burning books, so you’re no better, in my opinion.

00:03:53.000 –> 00:03:54.000
I mean, I get it.

00:03:54.000 –> 00:03:56.000
They’re worried about this whole LGTP agenda.

00:03:56.000 –> 00:03:59.000
They’re worried about, you know, critical race theory.

00:03:59.000 –> 00:04:00.000
And it’s just…

00:04:00.000 –> 00:04:01.000
It’s really…

00:04:01.000 –> 00:04:04.000
They’re trying to condition people not to think, just to be a certain way.

00:04:04.000 –> 00:04:06.000
And I just have a real problem with that.

00:04:06.000 –> 00:04:07.000
I really do.

00:04:07.000 –> 00:04:11.000
You know, people need to think for themselves and do what they want.

00:04:11.000 –> 00:04:13.000
And not be told what to do by their government.

00:04:13.000 –> 00:04:19.000
Again, the government does not need to stick their nose into what books people can and cannot read.

00:04:19.000 –> 00:04:21.000
I mean, the government just doesn’t have…

00:04:21.000 –> 00:04:24.000
The government needs to stay out of things, not get more into them.

00:04:24.000 –> 00:04:30.000
This is always my problem, is I don’t like it that the government butts their nose where it doesn’t belong.

00:04:30.000 –> 00:04:34.000
And this is exactly another area of that, where, okay, we’re going to go ahead…

00:04:34.000 –> 00:04:37.000
And we’re going to take the books away from kids.

00:04:37.000 –> 00:04:40.000
So this way the kids, you know, they don’t know what this is.

00:04:40.000 –> 00:04:44.000
And this way they can’t make an informed decision and we’ll tell them what they need to know.

00:04:44.000 –> 00:04:49.000
This is basically them trying to start their own little revolution by, you know…

00:04:49.000 –> 00:04:51.000
This is how it starts, burning books.

00:04:51.000 –> 00:04:52.000
It’s how it starts first.

00:04:52.000 –> 00:04:54.000
I just really have a problem with this.

00:04:54.000 –> 00:04:56.000
I just don’t think that people…

00:04:56.000 –> 00:04:57.000
I just have…

00:04:57.000 –> 00:05:00.000
For me, it feels like conditioning and I don’t like that.

00:05:00.000 –> 00:05:02.000
I really have a problem with that.

00:05:02.000 –> 00:05:03.000
And I just think it’s a…

00:05:03.000 –> 00:05:09.000
You know, it’s just a really stupid move and a really dumb move and a waste of taxpayers’ money.

00:05:09.000 –> 00:05:12.000
And a waste of just resources in general.

00:05:12.000 –> 00:05:13.000
So what a pain in…

00:05:13.000 –> 00:05:15.000
What a pain in the ass DeSantis is.

00:05:15.000 –> 00:05:18.000
And he’s not off to a good start with me, let’s put it that way.

00:05:18.000 –> 00:05:19.000
I really…

00:05:19.000 –> 00:05:22.000
I was hoping to like him but I don’t know, he just seems to be…

00:05:22.000 –> 00:05:24.000
I don’t know, like…

00:05:24.000 –> 00:05:28.000
When I look at him and I look at Trump, I just wonder which is the worst of two evils.

00:05:28.000 –> 00:05:35.000
And really, you look at Trump, DeSantis, you look at Biden and it’s like, hmm, which is the lesser of three evils?

00:05:35.000 –> 00:05:38.000
I mean, I was hoping to think maybe a Republican would be but I’m starting to wonder.

00:05:38.000 –> 00:05:40.000
Especially with this whole thing.

00:05:40.000 –> 00:05:41.000
I mean, what a…

00:05:41.000 –> 00:05:47.000
They’re so worried about this debt ceiling but yet he can waste money having teachers spend their time getting books out of schools.

00:05:47.000 –> 00:05:52.000
So just really a real waste and a bunch of…

00:05:52.000 –> 00:05:56.000
Really had me up in an uproar because, I mean, you know…

00:05:56.000 –> 00:05:58.000
I mean, come on, you’re going to start taking…

00:05:58.000 –> 00:05:59.000
What’s next?

00:05:59.000 –> 00:06:00.000
We start burning…

00:06:00.000 –> 00:06:02.000
I mean, this is why they don’t like the internet either.

00:06:02.000 –> 00:06:06.000
You know, you can’t burn Google like you can burn encyclopedias.

00:06:06.000 –> 00:06:07.000
You know?

00:06:07.000 –> 00:06:08.000
That’s what it is.

00:06:08.000 –> 00:06:10.000
The whole thing is just ridiculous.

00:06:10.000 –> 00:06:21.000
But then again, you have New York, you know, announcing that they’re going to have a 95% tax on cigars because they’re trying to fight smuggling.

00:06:21.000 –> 00:06:24.000
And they’re trying to fight…

00:06:24.000 –> 00:06:25.000
They’re trying to make…

00:06:25.000 –> 00:06:26.000
They’re saying this is…

00:06:26.000 –> 00:06:31.000
They’re trying to fight smuggling but what this is, this is really the Democrats’ whole thing on health.

00:06:31.000 –> 00:06:33.000
Oh, we’re trying to make a healthier America.

00:06:33.000 –> 00:06:37.000
We’re trying to make a… Yeah, you want a healthier America so that people don’t waste…

00:06:37.000 –> 00:06:44.000
Don’t spend more health insurance because goodness knows all the Democrats are in the pockets of healthcare companies and pharma.

00:06:44.000 –> 00:06:48.000
So, I mean, they don’t want people, you know, getting…

00:06:48.000 –> 00:06:49.000
You know, it’s all ridiculous.

00:06:49.000 –> 00:06:52.000
They’re going to have a 95% tax on cigars.

00:06:52.000 –> 00:06:57.000
I mean, cigarette prices in New York are higher than almost anywhere in the country.

00:06:57.000 –> 00:07:00.000
And now we’re going to put a 95% tax on cigars.

00:07:00.000 –> 00:07:01.000
Be real.

00:07:01.000 –> 00:07:05.000
I do think it’s another ridiculous thing that the government’s doing.

00:07:05.000 –> 00:07:07.000
And it doesn’t matter Democrat or Republican.

00:07:07.000 –> 00:07:09.000
Both sides stink right now.

00:07:09.000 –> 00:07:11.000
They really do.

00:07:11.000 –> 00:07:14.000
So, like I said, I can’t believe that a tax…

00:07:14.000 –> 00:07:17.000
But this is also the same state that taxed soda.

00:07:17.000 –> 00:07:20.000
It wouldn’t let people have more than a certain size soda.

00:07:20.000 –> 00:07:23.000
Do we all remember that from a bunch of years ago?

00:07:23.000 –> 00:07:24.000
Okay, that was another…

00:07:24.000 –> 00:07:27.000
Who is the government deciding what size soda I can drink?

00:07:27.000 –> 00:07:28.000
Come on, be real.

00:07:28.000 –> 00:07:31.000
I mean, it’s just so stupid and ridiculous.

00:07:31.000 –> 00:07:33.000
It’s beyond idiotic.

00:07:33.000 –> 00:07:35.000
So, I couldn’t believe that today.

00:07:35.000 –> 00:07:36.000
I’m like, “Oh, great.”

00:07:36.000 –> 00:07:37.000
I mean, I don’t condone smoking or scar smoking.

00:07:37.000 –> 00:07:38.000
I don’t partake.

00:07:38.000 –> 00:07:39.000
I don’t chew, smoke.

00:07:39.000 –> 00:07:42.000
I don’t do anything with tobacco products or alcohol, nothing like that.

00:07:42.000 –> 00:07:44.000
But, I mean, still, be real.

00:07:44.000 –> 00:07:47.000
I mean, it’s just another way that…

00:07:47.000 –> 00:07:49.000
Something else the government doesn’t need to tell me to do.

00:07:49.000 –> 00:07:52.000
And on a better note, talking about things getting more expensive…

00:07:52.000 –> 00:07:56.000
So, apparently, there are going to be more layoffs.

00:07:56.000 –> 00:07:59.000
PayPal announced they’re laying off 2,000 people.

00:07:59.000 –> 00:08:02.000
And there is…

00:08:02.000 –> 00:08:05.000
Let’s see, Bed, Bath & Beyond is closing.

00:08:05.000 –> 00:08:09.000
I guess they have another line of stores, some kind of beauty store that they have.

00:08:09.000 –> 00:08:11.000
It’s like 50 stores across the country.

00:08:11.000 –> 00:08:14.000
They’re closing all them, so all those people are going to be out of work.

00:08:14.000 –> 00:08:16.000
And let’s see, what else?

00:08:16.000 –> 00:08:22.000
There’s a lot of layoffs happening recently in the tech space.

00:08:22.000 –> 00:08:25.000
And also, well, just in general.

00:08:25.000 –> 00:08:29.000
And it’s just, you know, great job on the economy, sir.

00:08:29.000 –> 00:08:32.000
Let’s see, what else do we have?

00:08:32.000 –> 00:08:36.000
Oh, Pfizer announced today that they are going…

00:08:36.000 –> 00:08:39.000
Apparently, they’re saying that their sales are down.

00:08:39.000 –> 00:08:40.000
That people aren’t…

00:08:40.000 –> 00:08:43.000
Not as many people are getting the booster as they were before.

00:08:43.000 –> 00:08:48.000
So, I guess the whole COVID boom of making money is over for Pfizer.

00:08:48.000 –> 00:08:50.000
So, get off that stock.

00:08:50.000 –> 00:08:52.000
That stock’s going to tank.

00:08:52.000 –> 00:08:57.000
Oh, let’s see, there’s so much stuff going on this week in the news.

00:08:57.000 –> 00:09:02.000
They’re saying now that 64% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

00:09:02.000 –> 00:09:05.000
They said that’s up from last year.

00:09:05.000 –> 00:09:09.000
Which, you know, doesn’t surprise me.

00:09:09.000 –> 00:09:11.000
Look at the cost of everything going up.

00:09:11.000 –> 00:09:12.000
Gas is up.

00:09:12.000 –> 00:09:14.000
Food is up.

00:09:14.000 –> 00:09:15.000
I mean, everything is up.

00:09:15.000 –> 00:09:16.000
Interest rates are up.

00:09:16.000 –> 00:09:18.000
People are paying more on their credit cards.

00:09:18.000 –> 00:09:20.000
People are paying more on their taxes.

00:09:20.000 –> 00:09:24.000
People are paying more on their mortgages, you know.

00:09:24.000 –> 00:09:26.000
Keep going up with the interest rate, Federal Reserve.

00:09:26.000 –> 00:09:31.000
You’re going to keep putting, you know, keep putting the country into a bigger recession.

00:09:31.000 –> 00:09:32.000
Because that’s their answer.

00:09:32.000 –> 00:09:35.000
Oh, the Fed just keeps coming out, keeps raising the interest rate.

00:09:35.000 –> 00:09:37.000
And that’s so we can slow the economy down.

00:09:37.000 –> 00:09:42.000
Well, you’re also causing people to have much higher mortgage payments.

00:09:42.000 –> 00:09:45.000
The people that have adjustables are crying about this.

00:09:45.000 –> 00:09:49.000
So, but you know, keep doing it because, you know, that slows the economy down, Mr. President.

00:09:49.000 –> 00:09:51.000
And the Federal Reserve.

00:09:51.000 –> 00:09:53.000
They’re all, you know.

00:09:53.000 –> 00:09:59.000
But they said that the Federal Reserve is expected to slow the pace of the way they’ve been raising interest rates.

00:09:59.000 –> 00:10:00.000
Well, wonderful.

00:10:00.000 –> 00:10:01.000
That’s great.

00:10:01.000 –> 00:10:02.000
So, slow it.

00:10:02.000 –> 00:10:03.000
Now they’re going to slow it down.

00:10:03.000 –> 00:10:05.000
But they’re still going to go up with it.

00:10:05.000 –> 00:10:06.000
It’s just going to take longer now.

00:10:06.000 –> 00:10:08.000
I mean, it’s just, they don’t know what they’re doing.

00:10:08.000 –> 00:10:09.000
They really don’t.

00:10:09.000 –> 00:10:10.000
None of them do in Washington right now.

00:10:10.000 –> 00:10:12.000
Let’s see.

00:10:12.000 –> 00:10:14.000
They’re saying wage increases have slowed.

00:10:14.000 –> 00:10:16.000
That’s something else that was in the news this week.

00:10:16.000 –> 00:10:20.000
That the wage increases are not what they thought they would be.

00:10:20.000 –> 00:10:25.000
They said, you know, that many people, that a lot of companies were offering big money to get people in the door.

00:10:25.000 –> 00:10:27.000
Signing bonuses of it.

00:10:27.000 –> 00:10:28.000
Now that’s starting to slow down.

00:10:28.000 –> 00:10:32.000
Well, yeah, because look at all the layoffs that are happening.

00:10:32.000 –> 00:10:35.000
Now, granted, a lot of those people aren’t blue collar workers.

00:10:35.000 –> 00:10:37.000
They’re office workers and stuff like that.

00:10:37.000 –> 00:10:40.000
But still, that’s going to be all people looking for jobs.

00:10:40.000 –> 00:10:41.000
Okay?

00:10:41.000 –> 00:10:45.000
So, I mean, and some of them may have to go back to blue collar work temporarily.

00:10:45.000 –> 00:10:47.000
Let’s see how the unemployment thing goes.

00:10:47.000 –> 00:10:50.000
But, you know, who knows what they’re going to do with unemployment.

00:10:50.000 –> 00:10:53.000
Because the more people they lay off, the higher the unemployment rates are going to go.

00:10:53.000 –> 00:10:55.000
But yet they say the unemployment rate is going down.

00:10:55.000 –> 00:11:06.000
You know, I tell you, Washington, you know, what makes me laugh about this whole thing is they always said that Trump had people around him that were just yes men, yes men, that just told him what he wanted to hear.

00:11:06.000 –> 00:11:08.000
Well, this president, he much better.

00:11:08.000 –> 00:11:14.000
According to him, with the numbers he’s been told, you know, gas, you know, what was it, oh, food.

00:11:14.000 –> 00:11:15.000
Food hasn’t gone up.

00:11:15.000 –> 00:11:18.000
They’re about the prices are about the same, what he was, these people told him.

00:11:18.000 –> 00:11:20.000
He said that a couple weeks ago.

00:11:20.000 –> 00:11:21.000
Really?

00:11:21.000 –> 00:11:24.000
Where have you been shopping that the prices are the same?

00:11:24.000 –> 00:11:25.000
You know?

00:11:25.000 –> 00:11:28.000
You know, like I said, like the president really grocery shops.

00:11:28.000 –> 00:11:32.000
Oh, yes, people that go out and look at, you know, yeah, BS.

00:11:32.000 –> 00:11:33.000
They don’t know.

00:11:33.000 –> 00:11:35.000
Again, he has to either just tell him what he wants to know.

00:11:35.000 –> 00:11:37.000
Oh, you’re doing a great job, Mr. President.

00:11:37.000 –> 00:11:38.000
You’re doing a great job, Mr. President.

00:11:38.000 –> 00:11:39.000
It’s the same thing.

00:11:39.000 –> 00:11:40.000
They’re all like that.

00:11:40.000 –> 00:11:41.000
They’re politicians.

00:11:41.000 –> 00:11:42.000
You can’t trust them.

00:11:42.000 –> 00:11:44.000
Let’s see.

00:11:44.000 –> 00:11:50.000
Apparently, the US is saying that Russia is violating some kind of nuclear arms control agreement.

00:11:50.000 –> 00:11:53.000
Well, we’re allowed to go search and check their nuclear stuff.

00:11:53.000 –> 00:11:55.000
They’re not allowing us to do that now.

00:11:55.000 –> 00:11:56.000
Of course not.

00:11:56.000 –> 00:11:59.000
With all these sanctions on Russia, of course they’re not going to.

00:11:59.000 –> 00:12:05.000
And by the way, does anybody else really think that those sanctions are really doing anything?

00:12:05.000 –> 00:12:07.000
I mean, seriously.

00:12:07.000 –> 00:12:10.000
Does anybody think that the sanctions on Russia are doing anything?

00:12:10.000 –> 00:12:11.000
Because I don’t think they are.

00:12:11.000 –> 00:12:13.000
I really think Putin could care less.

00:12:13.000 –> 00:12:16.000
I don’t think it’s really, you know, I don’t think he cares.

00:12:16.000 –> 00:12:17.000
I don’t think it’s working.

00:12:17.000 –> 00:12:19.000
I think it’s a bunch of baloney.

00:12:19.000 –> 00:12:21.000
I mean, the only people they’re hurting is the people.

00:12:21.000 –> 00:12:23.000
The people can’t uprise against him.

00:12:23.000 –> 00:12:25.000
You know, it’s ridiculous.

00:12:25.000 –> 00:12:35.000
You know, I mean, just like, you know, and I hate to say this, but what they’re trying to have happen, okay, is an uprising over there, okay?

00:12:35.000 –> 00:12:45.000
But, and I’m not, and again, I’m not saying it was the right thing to do or the way it was handled, but in this country we try to have an uprising and look what happened.

00:12:45.000 –> 00:12:48.000
You know what I mean? Nothing changed.

00:12:48.000 –> 00:12:56.000
You know, I mean, I’m just saying, you know, it’s, you know, you know the old saying, you know, do what I do as I say, don’t do as I do.

00:12:56.000 –> 00:12:58.000
That’s what this country is founded on.

00:12:58.000 –> 00:13:01.000
Those principles of do as I say, don’t do as I do.

00:13:01.000 –> 00:13:06.000
I mean, you know, they’re, they’re, they’ve been putting these sanctions on for months saying this is going to hurt Russia.

00:13:06.000 –> 00:13:09.000
And if as long as we keep them on, the more it’s going to hurt Russia, the people.

00:13:09.000 –> 00:13:11.000
The people don’t care and they can’t, they do care.

00:13:11.000 –> 00:13:15.000
They can’t do anything because the hit Putin’s got control over everything.

00:13:15.000 –> 00:13:17.000
So, I mean, they don’t know.

00:13:17.000 –> 00:13:19.000
They really don’t know.

00:13:19.000 –> 00:13:21.000
You know, let’s see.

00:13:21.000 –> 00:13:27.000
Now they’re seeing that Pakistan bomb could have been over a security breach or a data breach.

00:13:27.000 –> 00:13:28.000
A hundred people are dead.

00:13:28.000 –> 00:13:29.000
They don’t know what it was.

00:13:29.000 –> 00:13:38.000
And that to me was an interesting story only because, you know, the worst kind of security breaches or data breaches you can have are the ones you don’t know about.

00:13:38.000 –> 00:13:40.000
And I really mean that.

00:13:40.000 –> 00:13:45.000
It’s very, that’s something I tell people all the time is they say all the time, we’ve never had a security breach.

00:13:45.000 –> 00:13:55.000
And I always say, well, that you know of, you know, that’s a bit, you know, some of the, you know, if you have a security breach or some kind of thing with security and you don’t know about it, that’s always the worst time.

00:13:55.000 –> 00:13:57.000
Because many times you don’t know until after the damage has been done.

00:13:57.000 –> 00:14:02.000
So that was kind of an interesting story there.

00:14:02.000 –> 00:14:12.000
I thought, especially since, you know, Pakistan is, I mean, they’ve always kind of been allies to us, but you know, I mean, you know, they’re having data leak problems.

00:14:12.000 –> 00:14:14.000
They’re having the same problems we are.

00:14:14.000 –> 00:14:21.000
U.S. Netherlands are trying to strike a deal to block chip exports to China.

00:14:21.000 –> 00:14:32.000
Apparently, we need, actually I have to say that, that’s one thing that I’m glad the president’s doing is he’s trying to not allow these chips to go to China for stuff that the Chinese need.

00:14:32.000 –> 00:14:36.000
He’s trying to keep them and saying, hey, let America, you know, they were made for Americans.

00:14:36.000 –> 00:14:41.000
They have to go to American products or have to come to America first and be used here first.

00:14:41.000 –> 00:14:43.000
And I think that’s a good decision.

00:14:43.000 –> 00:14:44.000
I really do.

00:14:44.000 –> 00:14:47.000
You know, there’s been a chip shortage for so long now.

00:14:47.000 –> 00:14:53.000
They really need to, they’re trying to start, we’re going to, I mean, the chip manufacturing and all, it’s going to be open soon in America.

00:14:53.000 –> 00:14:55.000
And hopefully that’ll help with the chip shortage.

00:14:55.000 –> 00:15:01.000
But specifically, these chips, you know, you know, they’re being made for America.

00:15:01.000 –> 00:15:06.000
Let’s not send them over to China because God knows if China is going to put them in our devices.

00:15:06.000 –> 00:15:10.000
I mean, they’re supposed to, but who knows if they will.

00:15:10.000 –> 00:15:15.000
One of the things we, one of the things I’m talking about, we’re Pakistan, but talking about the Middle East, the Taliban.

00:15:15.000 –> 00:15:21.000
Apparently they’re saying that Afghanistan, Afghanistan’s are in Afghanistan.

00:15:21.000 –> 00:15:25.000
They’re not allowing the women to take entrance exams.

00:15:25.000 –> 00:15:27.000
They’re not allowing the women to go to college.

00:15:27.000 –> 00:15:31.000
They’re not allowing, they’re trying to put an education ban on women.

00:15:31.000 –> 00:15:35.000
They don’t want women taking, you know, going to universities.

00:15:35.000 –> 00:15:37.000
They want the women to stay there.

00:15:37.000 –> 00:15:44.000
So again, you know, we pulled out and, you know, you knew things were going to go bad as soon as we pulled out.

00:15:44.000 –> 00:15:48.000
And every time we turn around, there’s another story about the way people are being treated.

00:15:48.000 –> 00:15:53.000
And unfortunately, a lot of those people backed Americans and now they’re suffering because of it.

00:15:53.000 –> 00:15:57.000
And, you know, sometimes, you know, you back the right horse.

00:15:57.000 –> 00:16:05.000
But unfortunately, when that horse pulls out, you know, you’re left kind of, you know, behind in a bad situation.

00:16:05.000 –> 00:16:07.000
That’s kind of a tough thing.

00:16:07.000 –> 00:16:11.000
Talking about things that are tough, obviously things you can’t control the weather.

00:16:11.000 –> 00:16:19.000
All this weather right now in the southern region, over a thousand flights canceled down south because of the ice and the storms.

00:16:19.000 –> 00:16:24.000
The winter storm watch was issued for North Texas, Dallas, places like that.

00:16:24.000 –> 00:16:27.000
You know, that’s a really tough situation down there.

00:16:27.000 –> 00:16:34.000
They are just, you know, they had this a couple, I think it was a year ago or two years ago with the big, that big freeze they had down there.

00:16:34.000 –> 00:16:37.000
And again, they say climate change, whatever.

00:16:37.000 –> 00:16:52.000
But the truth is down in Texas and places like Arizona, down south, North Carolina, they just do not have the, the, the equipment or the resources to handle stuff.

00:16:52.000 –> 00:16:53.000
They don’t have salters.

00:16:53.000 –> 00:16:57.000
They don’t have some people that have snow shovels that live down there.

00:16:57.000 –> 00:17:03.000
They just don’t have the resources down there to be able to handle this kind of stuff.

00:17:03.000 –> 00:17:09.000
We have here up north, like Pennsylvania, that we’re used to this kind of weather. We had the equipment, the people, the resources.

00:17:09.000 –> 00:17:15.000
But down there, they just don’t, man. They just, you know, they just, they just don’t have the ability.

00:17:15.000 –> 00:17:16.000
So they just have to deal with it.

00:17:16.000 –> 00:17:26.000
And it just becomes a big mess down there because, you know, the weather, they just, it just, it brings everything to a screeching halt, you know.

00:17:26.000 –> 00:17:29.000
But we do, I will say this, we have had that up here.

00:17:29.000 –> 00:17:34.000
We lost power a few times. We’ve had things come to a halt and they have to open up warming stations, stuff like that.

00:17:34.000 –> 00:17:41.000
But some of the other things, though, especially around here, that we’ve had issues with over the year, believe it or not, is the heat.

00:17:41.000 –> 00:17:46.000
When the heat index gets too hot up here, many people up in this, especially in Pennsylvania, don’t have air conditioning.

00:17:46.000 –> 00:17:48.000
It’s just not a thing up here.

00:17:48.000 –> 00:17:50.000
A lot of people don’t have it.

00:17:50.000 –> 00:17:57.000
And, you know, what happens is you get the, you know, the, it gets really hot and then people don’t have air conditioning and they just, they can’t deal with the heat.

00:17:57.000 –> 00:18:03.000
And you have a lot of people getting heat stroke or people that get overheated, people that get sick from it, especially the elderly.

00:18:03.000 –> 00:18:05.000
They have, you know, breathing issues and stuff like that.

00:18:05.000 –> 00:18:07.000
So that’s something like we’re up here.

00:18:07.000 –> 00:18:11.000
We’re not used to really super hot, hot, high heat.

00:18:11.000 –> 00:18:14.000
And that’s always been an issue in Pennsylvania up here.

00:18:14.000 –> 00:18:16.000
You know, they issue heat warnings and stuff like that.

00:18:16.000 –> 00:18:21.000
So it’s something, you know, that we’ve always had to deal with up here.

00:18:21.000 –> 00:18:27.000
And the heat, when I was first moved up to Pennsylvania years and years ago, we didn’t have much, much heat.

00:18:27.000 –> 00:18:29.000
But now we’re, in the summer, we get a little bit warmer.

00:18:29.000 –> 00:18:31.000
So climate change, who knows?

00:18:31.000 –> 00:18:35.000
But either way, it’s, you know, that’s what happens.

00:18:35.000 –> 00:18:42.000
Like I said, especially with the ice storms and all that, it’s up here, you know, like I said, it’s not a big issue.

00:18:42.000 –> 00:18:44.000
Snow storms, stuff like that.

00:18:44.000 –> 00:18:45.000
Not really a problem.

00:18:45.000 –> 00:18:49.000
But down there, and especially down south, people that need to know their four-wheel drive and stuff like that.

00:18:49.000 –> 00:18:51.000
So it’s a little bit different.

00:18:51.000 –> 00:18:59.000
Biden intends to end the COVID-19 and public health emergency on May 11th for COVID.

00:18:59.000 –> 00:19:01.000
So a lot of people were wondering why he’s doing this.

00:19:01.000 –> 00:19:06.000
I think part of this is to try to slow the whole debt ceiling.

00:19:06.000 –> 00:19:13.000
They’re trying to, with everything going on with the debt ceiling, I think this is a way of him showing that the Democrats are cutting back a little bit.

00:19:13.000 –> 00:19:15.000
So I think that’s a big issue.

00:19:15.000 –> 00:19:22.000
The other thing is too now with this, it’s going to mean a lot of people are not going to be getting free tests anymore.

00:19:22.000 –> 00:19:26.000
A lot of people aren’t going to be getting free shots, stuff like that.

00:19:26.000 –> 00:19:31.000
They’re seeing a lot of this, a lot of the funding now is going to go away for COVID.

00:19:31.000 –> 00:19:38.000
So I’d be curious to see what happens next winter because May is kind of the end of the cold and flu season.

00:19:38.000 –> 00:19:46.000
But next year, I’ll be entering to see what happens with people with the home tests and all that kind of stuff with the COVID emergency, COVID relief.

00:19:46.000 –> 00:19:49.000
I’m curious to see what’s going to happen next year with that gone now.

00:19:49.000 –> 00:19:53.000
That means people are going to have to spend for their own masks.

00:19:53.000 –> 00:19:56.000
They’re going to have to spend for their own COVID tests.

00:19:56.000 –> 00:19:57.000
They’re going to spend for all that.

00:19:57.000 –> 00:20:00.000
But we’ll see what happens with that next.

00:20:00.000 –> 00:20:01.000
That’ll be next year.

00:20:01.000 –> 00:20:10.000
But I think the other reason why he’s ending this is there’s talks that he may actually do a national health crisis for the abortions.

00:20:10.000 –> 00:20:18.000
And because I’m seeing a lot of people are getting, they’ve actually had many instances right now where people have actually, you know, gotten abortions and gotten really sick and stuff like that.

00:20:18.000 –> 00:20:20.000
And they don’t think they can get them or stuff like that.

00:20:20.000 –> 00:20:24.000
So he’s saying he wants to start a national health emergency for that.

00:20:24.000 –> 00:20:29.000
I don’t think he wants to have two national emergencies at the same time.

00:20:29.000 –> 00:20:38.000
So I think he figures, okay, well, I’ll end this one and, you know, maybe he’ll do, maybe in May he’ll do a national health crisis for the abortion.

00:20:38.000 –> 00:20:40.000
A lot of people who want to get abortions can’t get them safely.

00:20:40.000 –> 00:20:44.000
And he’s saying that he might do something at the federal level, make a national crisis or emergency.

00:20:44.000 –> 00:20:45.000
I don’t know.

00:20:45.000 –> 00:20:46.000
We’ll see what happens.

00:20:46.000 –> 00:20:48.000
I don’t know if that’s going to happen or not, but he may do it.

00:20:48.000 –> 00:20:49.000
He may not.

00:20:49.000 –> 00:20:54.000
But we’ll have to wait and wait and see what happens with that.

00:20:54.000 –> 00:21:01.000
Apparently, things are not going well between Kevin McCarthy and the House GOP and Biden.

00:21:01.000 –> 00:21:05.000
They were supposed to have their first meeting recently, and apparently it didn’t end well.

00:21:05.000 –> 00:21:06.000
That’s what the rumors are.

00:21:06.000 –> 00:21:09.000
I don’t know yet, but that’s what the rumors have been.

00:21:09.000 –> 00:21:11.000
The story just broke not too long ago.

00:21:11.000 –> 00:21:18.000
So they’re saying new medical rules aim to take back $4.7 billion from insurers.

00:21:18.000 –> 00:21:19.000
That was in the news.

00:21:19.000 –> 00:21:27.000
The government plans to aggressively audit medical advantage plans for overbilling.

00:21:27.000 –> 00:21:33.000
They’re saying this might be, again, part of that whole situation with the debt ceiling.

00:21:33.000 –> 00:21:37.000
This might be Biden’s way of showing that they’re cutting back and they’re looking for money.

00:21:37.000 –> 00:21:45.000
I know he doesn’t get that 70,000 more people for the IRS, so this might be a way of him, you know,

00:21:45.000 –> 00:21:50.000
cutting to show that, hey, we’re cutting back, we’re looking for money, we’re trying to, you know,

00:21:50.000 –> 00:21:56.000
I think he’s trying to make his administration look as good as possible, especially with this debt ceiling

00:21:56.000 –> 00:21:59.000
that’s, you know, we’re going into February now.

00:21:59.000 –> 00:22:02.000
And they’re saying, you know, March or April might be the cutoff time.

00:22:02.000 –> 00:22:05.000
So we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

00:22:05.000 –> 00:22:11.000
But again, I think this is him trying to, and I think this is Democrats, too, trying to find money.

00:22:11.000 –> 00:22:16.000
You know, they passed all these bills, and now with the Republican House, they’re going to have trouble

00:22:16.000 –> 00:22:20.000
getting funding for these things, and he doesn’t want them to just fall to the wayside for funding.

00:22:20.000 –> 00:22:25.000
So I think this is a way, too, of him saying, okay, we’ll cut this, we’ll cut that, we’ll look for money here,

00:22:25.000 –> 00:22:30.000
we’ll look for money there, we’ll look for this, we’ll look for that, to try to kind of come up with funds

00:22:30.000 –> 00:22:35.000
to keep these bills that they got passed going, because if not, these bills are just going to fall to the wayside

00:22:35.000 –> 00:22:37.000
from lack of spending.

00:22:37.000 –> 00:22:45.000
So they’re sitting in Minnesota now, I believe, yeah, Minnesota drivers.

00:22:45.000 –> 00:22:53.000
Apparently now they’re working on something with the driver’s licenses, where it used to be if the House,

00:22:53.000 –> 00:23:00.000
I guess, passed something with the driver’s license bill, saying that my computer is dogging for some reason,

00:23:00.000 –> 00:23:02.000
and I’m sorry about this.

00:23:02.000 –> 00:23:09.000
They’re saying that Minnesota House Representatives on Monday passed a bill to allow people in the country

00:23:09.000 –> 00:23:17.000
without authorization to apply for a Minnesota driver’s license and state ID, and the reason why this is so big

00:23:17.000 –> 00:23:25.000
is because apparently you were actually able to do this prior to 9/11.

00:23:25.000 –> 00:23:31.000
Apparently when 9/11 happened, a lot of you guys that maybe weren’t alive or don’t remember 9/11,

00:23:31.000 –> 00:23:41.000
a lot of rights were taken away from people temporarily or permanently because of the fear of what happened during 9/11.

00:23:41.000 –> 00:23:48.000
We had a lot of people that got plane licenses and stuff like that, got trained here in this country and all that,

00:23:48.000 –> 00:23:55.000
so they were saying now that Minnesota, in an effort to try to prevent another 9/11,

00:23:55.000 –> 00:24:04.000
they made stricter rules on who could get certain things like licenses or any kind of license,

00:24:04.000 –> 00:24:11.000
not just a plane license, but any kind of driver’s license or anything in an effort to try to be more

00:24:11.000 –> 00:24:17.000
stringent on the rules since everything that happened with 9/11, which I’m kind of okay with.

00:24:17.000 –> 00:24:25.000
I understand why we did what we did, especially during 9/11, and a lot of people were scared, worried,

00:24:25.000 –> 00:24:29.000
and a lot of those guys got their pilot’s licenses and all that were here in America.

00:24:29.000 –> 00:24:32.000
So a lot of states, Minnesota isn’t the only one, there’s a lot of states.

00:24:32.000 –> 00:24:37.000
I believe it was, I believe, actually I believe Pennsylvania was one of them, and I believe it was another state too.

00:24:37.000 –> 00:24:41.000
They made stricter rules on who could get licenses.

00:24:41.000 –> 00:24:47.000
If you came to this country and you were an immigrant and you weren’t, and all that,

00:24:47.000 –> 00:24:53.000
it was very difficult to get any kind of license, driver’s license or pilot’s license, especially after 9/11.

00:24:53.000 –> 00:25:00.000
So this is like the first thing, this is actually pretty big for Minnesota because they’ve been really tough on this since now.

00:25:00.000 –> 00:25:07.000
9/11 is how many years ago, and they still had that rule in place, and a lot of people have been trying to get it off,

00:25:07.000 –> 00:25:11.000
especially in Minnesota, you have a lot of immigrants there, and they’ve been wanting to get rid of it.

00:25:11.000 –> 00:25:18.000
So, you know, kind of, you know, I’m kind of happy for them.

00:25:18.000 –> 00:25:22.000
I mean, I think, you know, I know a lot of people that have problems with immigration are going to be upset about it,

00:25:22.000 –> 00:25:27.000
but I think there are a lot of people here that do need to get around to commute to work,

00:25:27.000 –> 00:25:33.000
and not being able to get a license in this country, especially in that state, you know, is a big thing.

00:25:33.000 –> 00:25:39.000
So, good for them, and it also too is going to help, you know, the voting base, more people with ID now.

00:25:39.000 –> 00:25:43.000
Well, they can’t, but they couldn’t vote anyway because they’re not citizens, but yeah.

00:25:43.000 –> 00:25:50.000
But either way now, you know, it’s going to make it easier for them in general to get their, any kind of license and photo ID.

00:25:50.000 –> 00:26:00.000
So this is kind of interesting, Biden today announced that he wants Apple to kind of, to unlock the phones

00:26:00.000 –> 00:26:05.000
and make people, give people more freedom, they pay for these devices, they should be able to do what they want on them,

00:26:05.000 –> 00:26:09.000
not have to go through the, it is kind of interesting to hear him talk about this.

00:26:09.000 –> 00:26:14.000
We’ve heard about this from Apple and the EU and all that kind of stuff, but now apparently Biden made a comment about it.

00:26:14.000 –> 00:26:18.000
So we’re curious to see if the government does anything, the FCC does anything.

00:26:18.000 –> 00:26:25.000
But what’s even a bigger thing in my opinion is he wants to start working with these companies

00:26:25.000 –> 00:26:34.000
to stop with the credit card late fees, to, he also wants to work with companies taking less percentage.

00:26:34.000 –> 00:26:42.000
So like if you use Square or American Express or any business that takes credit cards has to pay a percentage.

00:26:42.000 –> 00:26:50.000
And then obviously if you have American Express, that’s more, but he wants to work with these companies to make the fees less

00:26:50.000 –> 00:26:56.000
so that small businesses and some of that are getting, are losing less money on taking credit cards since everything is going credit card

00:26:56.000 –> 00:27:00.000
and there’s less cash nowadays. So I thought that was a neat thing he was doing.

00:27:00.000 –> 00:27:02.000
That kind of was, that kind of made me happy, I’m not going to lie.

00:27:02.000 –> 00:27:06.000
That one, that one made me happy when I read that, especially the whole thing of opening up the iPhone.

00:27:06.000 –> 00:27:10.000
I do like the iPhone, I do understand why they do what they do for security purposes.

00:27:10.000 –> 00:27:14.000
I don’t, that security doesn’t go away, but I do understand that it’s kind of tough as a consumer to say,

00:27:14.000 –> 00:27:20.000
okay, you know, I can’t have this app because it’s not on this and I can’t sideload it and you have to use their,

00:27:20.000 –> 00:27:25.000
their whole test flight system. And it’s kind of, at times it’s a little bit, a little bit of pain in the butt.

00:27:25.000 –> 00:27:29.000
So I like to see them open it up more, but still keep their security.

00:27:29.000 –> 00:27:36.000
Some other things too as well, Snapchat today, actually had a really bad day.

00:27:36.000 –> 00:27:42.000
They’re saying that there’s less, less advertisers on Snapchat than there were.

00:27:42.000 –> 00:27:48.000
All the companies, including Facebook and Spotify are all saying that advertising is less than it was during the pandemic

00:27:48.000 –> 00:27:56.000
and all that kind of stuff. You know, I get all that, but what they’re saying is now is that Snapchat, as great as it is,

00:27:56.000 –> 00:28:00.000
well, I don’t really like it, but I know a lot of young kids do, it’s that younger kid kind of thing.

00:28:00.000 –> 00:28:07.000
But what they’re saying is, is that they’re having a hard time getting advertisers because it’s a hard market to market to

00:28:07.000 –> 00:28:14.000
because it’s such a young age group that uses Snapchat that it’s going to be, it’s hard to, hard to sell ads

00:28:14.000 –> 00:28:19.000
because a lot of the kids that use it don’t have any money or aren’t, you know, aren’t really the consumers.

00:28:19.000 –> 00:28:24.000
The parents are the consumers. So they’re saying now it’s, they’re finding it’s getting harder and harder

00:28:24.000 –> 00:28:30.000
for companies to want to advertise on Snapchat and it’s making it more difficult for them.

00:28:30.000 –> 00:28:35.000
And it’s causing their, you know, they’ve had issues now where, okay, they were relying heavily on advertising

00:28:35.000 –> 00:28:40.000
and now they added a premium service and they’ve tried a bunch of stuff to really monetize it

00:28:40.000 –> 00:28:44.000
and it’s really been a slow, you know, a slow monetization.

00:28:44.000 –> 00:28:49.000
And a lot of people have said they should have just taken Facebook’s, what, 3 billion a bunch of years ago

00:28:49.000 –> 00:28:53.000
when Facebook offered them 3 billion and they turned it down. They should have taken it.

00:28:53.000 –> 00:28:58.000
And I think, kind of think they’re right because I think Facebook, this could have been just another thing they have

00:28:58.000 –> 00:29:04.000
and it could have just been, I think it could have been much more. I just, I don’t think Snap is really in a place

00:29:04.000 –> 00:29:11.000
where they’re going to be, you know, be profitable. And I just don’t think it’s possible.

00:29:11.000 –> 00:29:16.000
They just don’t have, they have a good user base, but it’s just not enough.

00:29:16.000 –> 00:29:22.000
Especially with the age group to make it profitable. So, another thing I wanted to point out,

00:29:22.000 –> 00:29:32.000
2.5 million pounds of, what is it, congra, brands canned meat. I’ve never heard of it, but got recalled.

00:29:32.000 –> 00:29:37.000
Bringing this up only because a lot of, it’s canned goods, a lot of you guys do store canned goods

00:29:37.000 –> 00:29:42.000
and all that because of, you know, we’re all preppers. That’s what we do, we store canned goods.

00:29:42.000 –> 00:29:48.000
But, if you have that in your thing and it’s, you know, it’s in a couple months old,

00:29:48.000 –> 00:29:55.000
I would think about throwing it out just for safety. A lot of people are getting sick from it and so they’re recalling it.

00:29:55.000 –> 00:29:59.000
Also, FedEx announced layoffs today. Now, here’s what the interesting part about FedEx is.

00:29:59.000 –> 00:30:05.000
This is what I really wanted to point out to people, is a lot of these layoffs, like FedEx, they’re laying off,

00:30:05.000 –> 00:30:10.000
but they’re not laying off drivers. They’re short on drivers, they need drivers. They’re laying off office people.

00:30:10.000 –> 00:30:19.000
Same thing goes for Amazon. They’re not laying off really any warehouse workers. They’re laying off all IT and tech people.

00:30:19.000 –> 00:30:24.000
So, these companies are not laying off the blue collar worker, they’re laying off the white collar worker.

00:30:24.000 –> 00:30:30.000
And, again, that’s what, you know, that’s what’s kind of scary is the, when that starts happening,

00:30:30.000 –> 00:30:36.000
that’s going to really affect the housing market. Maybe not in tech as much because there’s a lot of programmer jobs out there right now,

00:30:36.000 –> 00:30:41.000
but it’s definitely, you know, I think it is going to affect the economy.

00:30:41.000 –> 00:30:47.000
It is going to definitely make the numbers go up on the unemployment. So, I wanted to point that out.

00:30:47.000 –> 00:30:52.000
So, one of the things a couple people have asked, a couple people I got, I always get good feedback from you guys.

00:30:52.000 –> 00:31:01.000
A couple things I had written down here. Somebody announced that Hummer is going to be starting production of their EVs,

00:31:01.000 –> 00:31:05.000
their electric vehicles. I thought that was pretty cool to have a Hummer that’s an EV.

00:31:05.000 –> 00:31:10.000
I have, you know, the pickup trucks, now the Hummers. I thought that was kind of interesting.

00:31:10.000 –> 00:31:16.000
A Hummer is kind of an interesting electric car because you can’t, I mean, I know the ones that are going to be more the regular road ones,

00:31:16.000 –> 00:31:24.000
but I thought Hummer, an EV Hummer would be kind of cool, especially since, you know, Hummers are always been that, you know,

00:31:24.000 –> 00:31:31.000
that vehicle that, you know, can drive through anything, you know, but now, you know, you can drive through anything as long as you’re charged.

00:31:31.000 –> 00:31:38.000
So, I thought that was an interesting thing that somebody told me. Also, somebody asked me about, interesting thing,

00:31:38.000 –> 00:31:45.000
somebody asked me about meal prep companies. I was talking about how I’ve been dieting and doing liquid IV and stuff like that.

00:31:45.000 –> 00:31:52.000
Somebody had brought up to me about meal prep companies, and I looked, I actually did look into meal prep companies,

00:31:52.000 –> 00:31:59.000
and surprisingly enough, it’s not that bad. It’s very expensive, I will say that. It’s not as bad as I thought.

00:31:59.000 –> 00:32:07.000
You can get like 10 to 15 meals for 100 bucks, which is a lot of money, but, you know, if you, they actually come, you know,

00:32:07.000 –> 00:32:16.000
all pre-done, pre-packaged, you know, vacuum sealed, all that kind of stuff, then you could, you know, then you could get, you know, 10 of them will bring you a whole week of food, lunch, dinner,

00:32:16.000 –> 00:32:25.000
and they’re all clean food, and it’s all designed, it’s a Nutrisystem, and you just go ahead and you just, like I said, it’s a meal prep company,

00:32:25.000 –> 00:32:33.000
and they actually send you your food. I think 100 bucks, you know, I was looking at this, and, you know, for me, it wouldn’t work,

00:32:33.000 –> 00:32:41.000
because I’ve got a wife and kids and stuff like that, but, you know, if I was a single guy that just wanted to get healthy,

00:32:41.000 –> 00:32:48.000
and I didn’t, you know, I didn’t have a wife or kids that I had to worry about feeding, in the sense of, like right now, we have to make enough for people to eat dinner.

00:32:48.000 –> 00:32:55.000
I can’t just have one meal, you know what I mean? So, you know, it’s a little bit different, but one of the things, like I said to my wife,

00:32:55.000 –> 00:33:03.000
I said, you know, if I was a single guy living by myself, I probably would consider this, because, you know, all I have to do, really,

00:33:03.000 –> 00:33:11.000
I would have 100 bucks, that’s less than groceries. I mean, you know, I’d have snacks and stuff like that, you’d have to get, like, apple, you know, your fruit and stuff like that,

00:33:11.000 –> 00:33:16.000
but that’s really not bad, because you’re looking at, you wouldn’t have to buy any groceries because you’d have your meals planned.

00:33:16.000 –> 00:33:23.000
So, for 10, you know, for 20, you could say you get 20 meals for 200 bucks, that’s, like, almost, that’s two weeks of food for 200 bucks.

00:33:23.000 –> 00:33:30.000
That actually isn’t bad if you’re a single guy and you want to save money, you don’t want to worry about buying groceries or going out to eat, and you want to eat healthy.

00:33:30.000 –> 00:33:37.000
That really isn’t bad if you’re a single guy. Honestly, as a family of four, it wouldn’t work, because you’re looking at four meals every, you know,

00:33:37.000 –> 00:33:45.000
that’s, you know, 100 bucks wouldn’t even get me a day, because you’re looking at four meals, I mean, for, you know, looking at eight meals a day for lunch and dinner,

00:33:45.000 –> 00:33:52.000
which, I mean, the kids are in school, but when they’re not, so that really wouldn’t work, but if you were a single guy, I could see that being a cost savings.

00:33:52.000 –> 00:33:59.000
You know, you get four, you know, you get, you know, four clean meals for 100 bucks, or, I’m sorry, eight clean, 10 clean meals for 100 bucks,

00:33:59.000 –> 00:34:06.000
and then you’re, you know, you’re only, you know, you’re having lunch and you have your dinner and that’s it, you know, and then you only need, like, you know,

00:34:06.000 –> 00:34:13.000
just whatever you want, your, you know, water, you know, healthy drinks or, like, I mean, it actually would be a cost savings as a single person.

00:34:13.000 –> 00:34:21.000
So, I got people that said about meal prep, I do a lot of my own prep, but if I was single and I was looking to, I would probably do that.

00:34:21.000 –> 00:34:28.000
I know myself, I do take the pre-planned, the pre-done healthy meals with me to work, and I do do the meal prep for at night,

00:34:28.000 –> 00:34:33.000
but that would definitely be something I would definitely consider, so I thought that was interesting.

00:34:33.000 –> 00:34:41.000
Somebody, not a lot of questions this week, I’ll also do our social if you wanted to send me any questions, rebelsocial.media, go ahead, join up.

00:34:41.000 –> 00:34:49.000
It’s free, we don’t charge anything, it doesn’t cost anything, we don’t sell your data, nothing like that, it’s just a fun place for us to hang out, it’s really cool.

00:34:49.000 –> 00:34:59.000
Again, rebelsocial.media. But I thought this was pretty interesting too, is somebody had said to me about changing your life and where do you start with changing your life,

00:34:59.000 –> 00:35:09.000
and I thought this was an interesting question. You know, I always say, you know, a lot of people say write down your goals and think about where you want to be,

00:35:09.000 –> 00:35:23.000
and you can look at the pie in the sky, but the truth of the matter is, you can change your life, but certain things about your life you’re not going to be able to change,

00:35:23.000 –> 00:35:31.000
I mean you can, but it’s going to be a lot of work. For instance, me with the weight loss, you know, it’s something I want to do, but it’s not going to happen overnight, but I can do it.

00:35:31.000 –> 00:35:43.000
But I’ve had people that I’ve said, you know, write your goals down and they write down stuff that’s just not attainable. And I hate to say that, I mean I like to think, you know, everybody can accomplish their goals,

00:35:43.000 –> 00:35:51.000
but you need to be realistic, you know, a lot of people have seen what’s your goal, and they’ll write down like, you know, win the lottery. That’s not really a goal.

00:35:51.000 –> 00:36:05.000
That’s something you hope for, but it’s not a goal. So I wrote this, I tell everybody, write your goals down, you know, write down, you know, I tell everybody, I’ve said it for another show, write down what you’re spending, try to cut expenses,

00:36:05.000 –> 00:36:15.000
stuff like that is, you know, really important, but when it comes to changing your life, that’s a whole different process. And, you know, if you want to start with anything, you start with, like I said, jotting down your goals,

00:36:15.000 –> 00:36:24.000
but you’ve got to be realistic goals. If you want to say buy a house, that’s a realistic goal. If you want to, you know, get a new car, that’s a realistic goal. You want to get a better job, that’s a realistic goal.

00:36:24.000 –> 00:36:34.000
But I’ve had people I know that will write down your goal, what is your goal? Well, my goal is to be rich. Well, that’s great, but, you know, you’re kind of putting the cart before the horse, how are you going to get rich?

00:36:34.000 –> 00:36:50.000
And if you, you know, and what is your definition of rich? You know, you know, there are just some things, you know, that are just not, some goals that are just not obtainable or can’t be obtainable without certain other things being in place.

00:36:50.000 –> 00:37:00.000
And sometimes that’s timing and luck too. But I thought that was an interesting thing. Somebody said, how do you change your life? And I always, I guess I wrote it back, I said, well, first of all, write down your goals and where you want to be.

00:37:00.000 –> 00:37:11.000
And, you know, what it’s going to take to get there and all that. And that was a realistic thing, you know, and I think the big part is too, I think I want to talk about side hustles a lot because I think it’s always important to have more than one source of income.

00:37:11.000 –> 00:37:18.000
Especially if you’re working a nine to five, you want to have something that you can fall back on. I’ve always talked about this. If you lose your job, always have something to fall back on.

00:37:18.000 –> 00:37:32.000
But some people’s goals, and I really hate to say that, but some people’s goals are just not attainable. And, you know, I’ve had people that say to me, you know, well, you know, we own, you know, we own, we own a home here and want to own a home down there.

00:37:32.000 –> 00:37:38.000
Well, that’s an attainable goal. It’s going to take a little bit. It’s going to take some planning, but it’s possible.

00:37:38.000 –> 00:37:45.000
And if you have to say they want to buy their first home, that’s possible. Or they say, you know, they want to get a down payment for a house. Okay, that’s possible.

00:37:45.000 –> 00:37:54.000
You know, there are things that are possible, but some people write down goals that are just, just unattainable. Like, I had one person that wrote down a goal to own a mansion.

00:37:54.000 –> 00:37:59.000
And I’m like, well, that’s not really an attainable goal because you need the money to support it, you know.

00:37:59.000 –> 00:38:08.000
And I’ve had people write down just, you know, certain things that were just ridiculous. But my favorite one was when somebody wrote down to me, when I told her to go to write down, win the lottery.

00:38:08.000 –> 00:38:18.000
That’s not really, you know, that’s not really one of those kinds of, you know, you can’t really, you know, that’s just luck, you know.

00:38:18.000 –> 00:38:24.000
Or I’ve had people, you know, I’ve had people that have written down good stuff too that somebody had said one time, learn a new skill.

00:38:24.000 –> 00:38:29.000
I think that’s a great thing to write down. I think everybody can learn a new skill.

00:38:29.000 –> 00:38:37.000
I had somebody write down, start a side business. I thought that was a good one. Somebody wrote, be more prepared. Somebody wrote, become a better cook.

00:38:37.000 –> 00:38:41.000
I’ve had people write down, some people have written down, learn how to use my prep.

00:38:41.000 –> 00:38:45.000
There’s a couple of people that have down. We were talking about bringing down your goals here on the social.

00:38:45.000 –> 00:38:50.000
There was a lot of good ones, but like I said, some people, it was like, you think you’re going to win your goal?

00:38:50.000 –> 00:38:55.000
Like I had somebody write down, be prepared for retirement. And I think that’s a good goal. You know, stuff like that.

00:38:55.000 –> 00:39:02.000
I had somebody one time where actually, this is a true story. I was talking about prepping and I had said, you know, what’s your retirement at the lottery?

00:39:02.000 –> 00:39:08.000
That’s actually what they said. I’m like, wait a minute. That’s not, you know, and I said, you’re sure you’re a prepper? Cause that’s not really a prepper mindset.

00:39:08.000 –> 00:39:17.000
So I thought that was an interesting thing, but somebody had said about writing down the goals. I thought that was, some other interesting stuff we had was, let me see what else.

00:39:17.000 –> 00:39:28.000
Hold on. Improving safety in the homes. I thought that was a good one. And that’s something that you can do too, by the way, without even, I mean, I mean, it’s work, but you know, putting cameras up and stuff like that, that stuff you can do.

00:39:28.000 –> 00:39:37.000
And that’s something you could actually do to help improve the homestead. They were talking about, that’s one of their goals, improving the security on the homestead. And that, that is an important one too.

00:39:37.000 –> 00:39:44.000
Even if you’re not, you know, planning for the end of the world, you could always have better security. Everybody could. That was something else.

00:39:44.000 –> 00:39:50.000
Somebody had said, let’s, they’re going to get chickens. That was their goal. She was, they wanted to raise their own just to save. I think that’s a good goal.

00:39:50.000 –> 00:39:56.000
That’s one of, fortunately we got to lay out money a little bit, not, not a lot, but a little bit until you finally start making money. So that’s a, but that’s a good one.

00:39:56.000 –> 00:40:08.000
Somebody said they want to put up a wood stove in their house. They want to start a garden. There was a lot of good ones. Somebody had said about doing a raised bed this year, they want to get dirt and they want to redo their garden.

00:40:08.000 –> 00:40:16.000
There was a lot of good ones, if I’m being honest with you, more good ones than bad ones, but a couple of people, and that’s anything on social media, you get some replies back to like, what?

00:40:16.000 –> 00:40:26.000
But there was a lot of good replies. What you’re, I tell everybody before spring, it’s especially in prepping, you know, you can’t do it, Rome was not built in a year.

00:40:26.000 –> 00:40:37.000
You’re not going to be able to build your homestead out in a year. But I tell everybody at the beginning of the year, go ahead and write down what your goals are for the year with your homestead and, and, and make it realistic.

00:40:37.000 –> 00:40:48.000
You know, some people want to, you know, they’ll say, oh, I want to buy the property next door and knock the house over and, and, okay, well that’s not a, I mean, yes, it’s, it’s, it’s a possible good goal, but it’s not going to happen tomorrow.

00:40:48.000 –> 00:40:56.000
Don’t be realistic. So like for me, one of my goals this year is going to be some plants, some trees. We definitely want to do more in the yard this year.

00:40:56.000 –> 00:41:03.000
We want to definitely want to do a raise. We actually do want to do some more gardening. We want to do more irrigation, stuff like that.

00:41:03.000 –> 00:41:08.000
There’s definitely stuff we want to do on the homestead this year. I will, as we get closer to spring, my wife and I will start talking.

00:41:08.000 –> 00:41:18.000
I definitely want to do something about the heat in my house this year. We use wood. I’d really like to, to insulate the house and wrap the house this year to help with the heat loss, maybe get some new windows.

00:41:18.000 –> 00:41:25.000
There’s definitely a bunch of stuff I want to do. And I’ll probably write, I’ll have a bunch of goals written down. Maybe we’ll do a show on that eventually of what I’m going to do.

00:41:25.000 –> 00:41:37.000
You know what my plans are, remember. But, you know, that’s something I really pointed out that’s really important is, especially on homesteading or prepping is, you know, I know a lot of people that have a lot of goals, but, and that’s great to have a lot of goals, but, you know, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

00:41:37.000 –> 00:41:46.000
So what you need to do is, and homesteads aren’t going to be built in a day. So what you need to do is you need to go ahead and write down everything that you’re going to, you know, that you want to do.

00:41:46.000 –> 00:41:57.000
And then, you know, you look at that list and say, okay, here’s the thing we can probably get done this year. Here’s some things we can get next year. And obviously time, money, it’s all going to come into play.

00:41:57.000 –> 00:42:05.000
And again, it doesn’t have to happen overnight. If you do a little bit every single year, you know, that homestead before, you know, it’ll be exactly what you wanted.

00:42:05.000 –> 00:42:13.000
And taste and change, and you learn things and style and take, and like I said, things change, you know, and stuff like that. Like I know, we were trying to hoogham mound for a while.

00:42:13.000 –> 00:42:25.000
We did that for a little bit. That really wasn’t working out too well for us. Then we went to the raised beds. We went to, we were doing a piping and some of that for the irrigation, that being a pain that went to the regular, and flooding the swells and stuff like that.

00:42:25.000 –> 00:42:36.000
And, you know, we did that. And that worked really, really well for us, you know. But then that was, you know, and like I said, you know, things change. People, you know, you try stuff, some things work, some don’t.

00:42:36.000 –> 00:42:48.000
I know myself, we wanted to do a hydroponic system with the water and stuff like that and growing stuff. We’ve talked about that. One of the things maybe we want to do this year or next year, but it isn’t a list of things we want to do.

00:42:48.000 –> 00:42:57.000
You know, and you’ll get to that point where you want to see, you know, what you want to do, what works, what doesn’t work. Depends on your area, your environment, your land, what you can and can’t do.

00:42:57.000 –> 00:43:07.000
So, like I said, it’s going to take time and, you know, you just, the first thing you do with any time you’re trying to change your life or change your homestead or when you have goals of things, you first start by writing them down.

00:43:07.000 –> 00:43:16.000
Get them out of your head and get them on a piece of paper. This way you can look and say, okay, here’s, you know, here’s what I want to do. Here’s what I want to be.

00:43:16.000 –> 00:43:23.000
You know, this is what I need to do. This is what I need to, you know, this is, you know, and then too, I always tell everybody too, and I’ve noticed that myself, I always break the list down myself.

00:43:23.000 –> 00:43:32.000
Just not even think I do it of things I need to do, things I want to do, things that we will do. Because there are things you need to do on the homestead.

00:43:32.000 –> 00:43:37.000
There are things you’re going to want to do. And there’s, you know, you know, if you’ve got a leaky roof on something, you need to fix that.

00:43:37.000 –> 00:43:49.000
You know, if you have, you know, an issue with something, you know, with a foundation or a structure, you know, or something in the field, you got to deal with that, you know, and that’s a, you know, that’s a, that needs to be done.

00:43:49.000 –> 00:43:55.000
But then something you want to do, like maybe doing, you know, maybe more planting or more trees, that’s stuff you want to do.

00:43:55.000 –> 00:44:01.000
And maybe things that you will do down the future will be, you know, putting a fence up, putting, you know, putting in a security alarm.

00:44:01.000 –> 00:44:04.000
You know, there are things you want, you know, there are things you want to do.

00:44:04.000 –> 00:44:09.000
That’s what everybody on the homestead. And unfortunately, on any homestead, there is always stuff to do.

00:44:09.000 –> 00:44:14.000
And I don’t care what anybody, I’ve had people say, oh, there’s nothing to do on the homestead today. Yeah, there’s always something to do on the homestead, trust me.

00:44:14.000 –> 00:44:16.000
There’s always something you can be doing, trust me.

00:44:16.000 –> 00:44:20.000
I hate when people say to me, I’ve had people say it three or four, oh, there’s nothing to do on my homestead.

00:44:20.000 –> 00:44:24.000
It’s self-sufficient. Trust me when I tell you. I bet you I can walk around there and find at least three or four things.

00:44:24.000 –> 00:44:29.000
That’s just the way it is with a homestead. There’s always something like living on a farm. There’s always.

00:44:29.000 –> 00:44:33.000
So like I said, I think I’m going to wrap it up today. I know we had a lot of news today.

00:44:33.000 –> 00:44:37.000
A little less prepping here the last couple of days. It’s really been a heavy news cycle the last couple of weeks.

00:44:37.000 –> 00:44:40.000
I’d like to talk about certain things in the news that are going to affect us.

00:44:40.000 –> 00:44:45.000
And like I said, I want to thank everybody for listening and we’ll see you on the next episode. Thank you very much.

00:44:45.000 –> 00:44:46.300
Thank you very much.
